Awel Aman Tawe is recruiting a Cook/Café Officer to lead the development of our café, Caffi’r Hen Ysgol, at Hwb y Gors – our newly retrofitted community hub in Cwmgors.
About the Role
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has at least 2 years’ experience cooking high-quality food in a commercial setting.
- Is excited to create and deliver a seasonal vegetarian menu.
- Can manage café operations, stock, staff and volunteers.
- Is confident using digital tools like Square POS and spreadsheets to track performance and plan menus.
- Wants to build a café that’s not just a cafe – it will be a warm hub, a language café, a board games venue – a place for community connection.
This is a part-time role (22.5 hours/week) with a salary of £30,000 pro rata, based at Hwb y Gors. The contract is for 2 years, with potential for extension. We offer an ethical pension scheme with matched contributions, and a supportive, values-driven team.
