Monthly screenings to spark conversation and inspire action through the power of cinema
Welcome to Wild About Film! Our film programme explores the challenges and opportunities shaping our world, covering themes from food and fashion to travel, nature, and animal welfare. Each screening is followed by an open discussion with guest speakers, creating a space for fresh perspectives and practical ideas.
Wild About Film events take place on the last Wednesday of the month starting at 6.30pm. You can order food and drinks for the interval from our cafe on arrival.
Our Wild About Film environmental film club has grown quickly into a very successful regular event here at Hwb y Gors.
Our first season featured these films:

Plus a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing.
We will add a summary of the events and audience feedback here soon.
Our second season begins on Wednesday 30 September with the film THE COAL BENEATH OUR FEET, THE WIND ABOVE OUR HEADS.

We are grateful to Ffilm Cymru Wales and Film Hub Wales for funding our inaugural Wild About Film season. Watch an episode of Georgina’s Wonderful Welsh Cinema Journeys below, filmed when Ffilm Cymru Wales came to visit us at the Hwb.
We have been generously gifted professional film screening equipment by the former Monico Movies at Rhiwbina Community Cinema, with the support of Film Hub Wales.
