We are thrilled to announce that Hwb y Gors has been generously gifted a complete Cinema Kit by the Rhiwbina Community Cinema!
This was awarded to us after a selection process by the Rhiwbina Community Cinema committee, who were looking for a good home for their equipment. Gerald and Teilo (our Hwb officers) went on a journey to collect the kit:
“Teilo and I were given the assignment to collect the equipment from an address in the Cardiff suburb of Rhiwbina. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by Viv, her husband Harley and longtime friend and Treasurer Justin.
Viv invited us into the house where we were provided coffee and biscuits whilst Harley detailed the history and background of Monico Movies and his own, clearly very passionate and lifelong involvement with Film making and Cinema.
The equipment itself is of a very high standard and specification, in absolute pristine condition and I believe that we are extremely fortunate to be in possession of this kit, which will undoubtedly prove to be a valuable asset to the Hwb and Awel Aman Tawe.
Again, a massive ‘Thank You,’ appreciation and gratitude to Rhiwbina Community Cinema/Monico Movies, for this wonderful and generous donation, and to Viv, Harley and Justin for their warm welcome and hospitality, we hope to return that welcome to you when we open the Hwb, and can invite you to visit us.”
