Sosban Fawr

Our cooking programme that is training local people to create delicious, healthy meals * join us at the table for our pop-up community suppers

Learn. Cook. Share. Celebrate.

Sosban Fawr is a brand new food project that launched here at the Hwb in September 2026.

More than a cooking course, Sosban Fawr is an opportunity to learn new skills, make friends, build confidence and become part of a team. On one evening a week, over ten weeks, participants learn how to create delicious meals, understand healthy and affordable cooking, gain accredited Food Hygiene training and help prepare community feasts for up to 50 guests.

Sosban Fawr is led by Cegin Mr Henry, a former Welsh Food Teacher of the year, who teaches in both Welsh and English. The programme will run for two years, with a total of five cohorts of twelve students taking part in the ten week programme.

Join us at one of our pop-up suppers – a delicious set menu at an affordable price, bringing people together to share food, make new friends and build our community connections. See below for upcoming dates and menus.

We are grateful to funders The Rayne Foundation and the Upper Valleys Cluster Healthier Families Small Grant Scheme for supporting Sosban Fawr.
